Escaped Killers Charged with Gun Crimes

SALT LAKE CITY - Two killers who escaped from a county jail have been indicted on federal gun charges.  Danny Gallegos and Juan Diaz-Arevalo had three firearms when they were captured in Rock Springs on September 29th, six days after escaping from the Daggett County jail in eastern Utah.  They stole the guns and a Ford Explorer from a 79-year-old man, southwest of Manila.  The men are charged with carjacking as well as two charges related to possessing the firearms.  Gallegos was shot by a Wyoming officer when he refused to drop a rifle.  He's now in fair condition at University of Utah Hospital.
