Jackson...Less Expensive to Live? JACKSON - Teton County is ordering developers to make one quarter of residential projects they build outside the Town of Jackson as affordable housing. The Teton County Board of Commissioners enacted an emergency regulation Tuesday (10/9/07) to increase affordable-housing rates for residential development from 15 percent to 25 percent. Not to be outdone, the Jackson Town Council has started the process of increasing its affordable housing requirement for developers from 15 percent to 25 percent as well, however the town is handling the issue in its normal review process, NOT as an emergency ordinance. |
