Lynne Cheney

CASPER - The good ole' days is a different time for everyone.  For Lynne Cheney, well, SHE longs for the safety and confidence of the 1950s.  Cheney was in Casper last week to promote her newest book, "Blue Skies, No Fences:  A Memoir of Childhood and Family."  In the book, Cheney recalls growing up in Wyoming in the 1940s and 1950s.  Cheney says it was a historically interesting era.  She says that as a girl growing up in Casper, she felt the nation's confidence at that time.  Cheney says she still longs for the time when children could play "kick the can" in the street and their parents didn't worry.  She also recounts in her memoir meeting Dick Cheney, who went to Natrona County High School in Casper with her.
