New Family Definition?

GREEN RIVER - An ordinance that was up for first reading at last night's (11/06/07) Green River City Council Meeting would change the definition of "Family" for homes in Green River.  It was noted there are already ordinances in Green River that should accommodate neighborhood man-camps.  Councilman Ted York said he'd just as soon drop the proposed ordinance and try to enforce what is already in place.  He added the landowner has done some "house cleaning" to take care of the previous situation.  Mayor Hank Castillion said he received numerous calls about this ordinance and none regarding the new smoking ordinance, agreeing with councilman York that it should be dropped.  City Attorney Ford Bussart said upon review of the document he thinks it's legally suspect and possibly unconstitutional in its current form.  Rather than rework the ordinance however, the council unanimously voted to kill it.
