Rock Springs National Bank Robbed ROCK SPRINGS - The Rock Springs National Bank on Dewar Drive was robbed yesterday (10/30/07) around 11.50am. A white male walked into the Dewar Drive West branch of the bank chain, showed a handgun and demanded money. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the bank and walked toward Wendy's. The last known sighting of the man was when he was on foot, but he may have gotten into a vehicle in the nearby area. The suspect is between 5 foot 8 inches and 6 feet tall, weighs about 160 pounds, has no facial hair, and has prominent cheekbones and nose. He was last seen wearing a tan "boonie" style hat, a white long-sleeve crew neck t-shirt, tan cargo pants, and brown tennis shoes. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. The Rock Springs Police Department advises that if you do see this person, stay away and call the police immediately. If you have seen anyone matching the suspect's description, please call the RSPD at 362.7566. The bank is expected to be open its normal hours again today (10/31/07). According to Sgt. Clark Robinson with the RSPD the suspect is believed to have acted alone. There were no injuries involved with the robbery. |
