State Grants CHEYENNE - The state will provide nearly 5 million dollars to build access roads for two major industrial projects in the Southeast part of the state. The State Loan and Investment Board approved a 3 million dollar grant to Albany County to construct roads for a new quarry and lime plant north of Laramie. They also voted to grant nearly 2 million dollars to Carbon County to reconstruct 13 miles of county roads for a planned coal-to-liquids plant between Hanna, Medicine Bow, and Elk Mountain. Lastly, the Board approved more than 5 million dollars in Community Facilities Program grants to Cheyenne, Dayton, Hulett, and Medicine Bow. Most of the money will be used to renovate closed schools for other uses. |
