Sweetwater County Public Hearing

GREEN RIVER - Tuesday (11/06/07) morning the Sweetwater County Commissioners will hold a public hearing to consider a moratorium on development in the Reliance area.  The resolution proposes to halt development in all areas east of US Highway 191 within the service area of the Reliance public water system.  The idea is to preserve existing levels of fire hydrant water flows and fire protection for the Reliance area while the local governments plan for upgrades and repairs to the Reliance public water system that are necessary to bring the existing water system into compliance with the fire hydrant water flows that are required by the 2006 edition of the International Fire Code.  If adopted, the moratorium would be in place until the water system complies with those standards and the County Commissioners have reviewed the work that has been done.  The Commissioners can then remove the moratorium.  The public hearing will be held at 10.45am.
