Trauner Ahead of Cubin

CHEYENNE - Federal figures show that Democratic congressional candidate Gary Trauner has raised a lot more money in the past three months than incumbent Republican Rep. Barbara Cubin.  According to Trauner's filings with the Federal Election Commission his election committee raised just over $155,000 from July through September.  Cubin's committee raised just over $11,000 for the same period, and also reports nearly $6,000 in outstanding debts.  Cubin beat Trauner by just over 1,000 votes in the 2006 congressional campaign.  Cubin's election committee has raised nearly $55,000 since that election, including the last quarter.  Trauner's committee has raised more than $168,000 since the last election.  Cubin was first elected to Wyoming's sole house seat in 1994.  She said in a recent interview that she absolutely intends to run for re-election in 2008.  As of earlier this month, Cubin had missed 45 percent of the House votes this year.
