The Fontenelle Fire has burned 64,083 acres acres or 100 square miles on the Bridger-Teton National Forest, BLM High Desert District and State/Private Lands approximately 17 miles west of Big Piney. It is at 62% contained with 797 personnel on the scene. Four Type I crews and one Type II initial attack crew are being utilized to construct direct line in difficult terrain. The crews should complete their mission in three to four days, thereby reducing the potential for the fire to be long in duration. The current plan of attack is to protect oil and gas infrastructure and structure protection in Middle Piney, Snider Basin, Clear Creek Guard Station, and communications site.
