WWCC Graduates EMTs For First Time in 20 Years

Western Wyoming Community College graduated its first class of five Emergency Medical Technicians (Basic) in more than 20 years on Tuesday, June 18 in a ceremony at the Rock Springs campus. All five students have passed their state certification exams and are ready to begin new careers as EMTs

Residents Urged to Use Caution as Fire Danger Increases

Fire danger is increasing throughout the Rawlins Interagency Dispatch area and fire managers are reminding public lands users to use caution while recreating outdoors. Fire managers track fire danger by monitoring the weather and the moisture in vegetation. Fire danger, currently moderate, is increasing with warm and dry weather, is now trending above normal for this time of year.

Rawlins Wind Farm Revived

A wind farm project that originally got a permit from Carbon County 14 years ago but never got developed could be headed for a revival. Terra Moya Aqua Global Wind first obtained a conditional use permit for the Simpson Ridge project in 1999. Carbon County officials say the permit issued back then is still good.
