The Radio Network is proud to have received two awards at last weeks Wyoming Association of Broadcasters (WAB) Awards Ceremony. The WAB represents a collection of 95% of the radio and television broadcasters in the State of Wyoming. The Radio Network's 104.9FM/1490AM KUGR received the 1st place plaque in the Public Service category for Operation Stormy Weather. In May of 2011 an F5 multiple vortex tornado devastated the City of Joplin Missouri. More than 990 people were injured and 146 lives were lost in the storm with an estimated $2.2 billion worth of damage.

The Radio Network along with the overwhelming generosity of Sweetwater County raised over $10,000 dollars for the victims, and gathered thousands of pounds worth of supplies ranging from canned goods and clothes, to laundry detergent and dog food. The following week, The Radio Network and many citizens of Sweetwater County hitched up their campers and convoyed from Wyoming to Joplin to deliver the money and supplies to where they were needed most.

The Radio Network shares this award with all of those outstanding citizens of Southwest Wyoming that gave what they could in an unparalleled display of generosity that helped so many fellow Americans in need.

The Radio Network's Erick Pauley also received a 2nd place award in the Best News Reporter category for his submission on 92.1 KFRZ. Participants enter a story no longer than two and a half minutes long, to be judged by out of state judges. Although KFRZ was the station that received the honor, you can hear Erick's news updates across all of The Radio Network's four stations.
