UW Homecoming Events Start Thursday
Laramie, WY (AP): Homecoming weekend festivities begin at the University of Wyoming on Thursday. This year's homecoming theme is "Wanted: Cowboys of the West". Activities will include a speech by former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev, a dance, a pig roast, a parade and football game.
Thursday's events include a speech by Gov. Matt Mead at the Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium and a 1980s-themed homecoming dance at Wyoming Union Ballroom.
Gorbachev's appearance in the Arena-Auditorium highlights Friday's activities. It is free and open to the public. Saturday is the parade and football game between Wyoming and UNLV.
