Skywest Airlines to Eliminate Roundtrip From Gillette and Denver

SkyWest Airlines Inc. plans to eliminate 1 of its roundtrip flights between Gillette and Denver, starting May 2. The airport in Rock Springs also will lose an early morning departure to Denver and late evening arrival from Denver. SkyWest operates flights to Denver for United Airlines. SkyWest needs to cut the number of flights so it can meet the overall sleep network requirements and to clear time to paint of some of its aircraft. SkyWest is seeking an increase in subsidies from local governments to continue serving Rock Springs and Gillette.

Winter Storm Coming to Sweetwater County

The National Weather Service says a spring winter storm is bearing down on Wyoming. Winter storm warnings, watches and weather advisories are posted for all but the northwest corner of the state.

Wyo. Retirement System Fires Investment Officer

The Wyoming Retirement System has fired its chief investment officer following federal insider trading charges on transactions that predate his state employment. Retirement system Executive Director Thomas Williams says he dismissed Chief Investment Officer John Johnson of Arvada, Colo., on Monday.
